COMPANYIA GENERAL CÀRNIA was created from the fusion of two family businesses, CarnSalas and Carns Tonijuan, with over 80 years’ experience in the meat production sector.
Based in Mercabarna, the nerve-centre of Catalonia’s food distribution network, the company’s facilities occupy an area of 8,000 m2 of advanced technology, as well as an additional 2,500 m3 of cold-storage and freezer units.

Having these facilities located within the meat unit of Mercabarna means that the cold chain is unbroken thus allowing the company to maintain optimum levels of meat preservation and processing.
With their years of experience, the team of professionals who manage each of the four Independent Operational Units corresponding to the large groups of clients in the wholesale, retail and restaurant sectors, have set themselves one main goal: quality, regularity and service.
